In late 2001, Art Asylum was announced as the successful bidder for the license to create a new line of Star Trek toys. With over 35 years of characters to cull from, the company decided to jump right in and create toys for the new television series, Enterprise, and the upcoming tenth motion picture, Star Trek: Nemesis. The figures are 7" in scale and come in basic or deluxe version, with the deluxe coming with a base or a piece of Enterprise bridge. The initial wave was released in August 2002 with figures from the series premiere of Enterprise, "Broken Bow." This first set of figures will include:
There is also be a 12" scale ship of the Enterprise NX-01 with lights and sounds in the first wave. Two role-playing devices, the phase pistol and communicator, are also be available in one set. The ship and accessories will be released in September or October. For the film, Star Trek: Nemesis, Art Asylum have produced four figures in the initial wave.
